Pet Professional Upgrade: Auto Invoicing System

Pet Care Business Owner Takes on Software Problem

Software System Upgrade Gives Pet Business Owners the Ability to Spend More Time with Pets, Not Paperwork

Pet Professional’s new fully-automated invoicing and billing system helps business owners focus on providing better service to clients; humans and pets alike

By Nicole Amodeo

CHICAGO, Illinois – May 16, 2005 – Many pet care business owners start a dog walking or pet sitting company because they can turn their passion for animal welfare and their love of pets into a profitable venture. However, these entrepreneurs may find that as their company continues to grow, administrative concerns such as scheduling and accounting become more difficult to manage, thus making it hard to keep up with the exacting needs of their customers. The Pet Professional software application continues to help its users alleviate these administrative burdens and now, with its fully-automated invoicing and billing system upgrade, Pet Pro handles it all. Therefore, with the simple, intuitive and relevant administrative software system, pet care professionals can have more time to enjoy the benefits of being a part of the pet service industry; spending more time with the pets rather than with the paperwork.

Designer of the Pet Professional software system and previous owner of a pet sitting/dog walking company, Tim Flatland adds, “Now more than ever, using Pet Pro is comparable to hiring an additional employee to take care of your administrative needs.” For instance, the Auto Invoicing system is set up with the ability to automatically create and (if opted) send email invoices on a set frequency. Additionally, the Auto Billing feature will charge a customer’s credit card automatically. The invoicing and billing systems can be turned on/off on an individual client basis. These are examples of how Pet Professional allows users to customize their system to compliment their own business model. As Tim explains, “Each account is setup as a blank, feature-rich template. Users get to set up their service offerings within their accounts where they create access rules. This includes scheduling, payment, and package deals for their clients.”

The application has been available since late 2004 and has had great reaction from other industry professionals. Gretchen McGlensey, owner of Pennsylvania pet services company, Pampered Pooch Plus!, says that Pet Professional has streamlined her business and has given her the ability to get grow. “Being a small business owner, and still operating in the field as well as being administrator, greatly limits my time. Pet Professional gives me all the information I need quickly and efficiently… I look forward to growing my business now that I have Pet Professional to assist me in servicing my own client’s needs.”

Upgrades to Software

As we come to the completion of latest upgrade to the pet professional system (auto invoicing system) I thought I'd let you all know about the new features planned for the next upgrade...

1. Custom Field Types: This will give you the ability to choose which fields you want to use to store client, pet, and employee data. You will also be able to create/define your own fields.

2. Custom Report Maker: You select the field(s) and sort order... Giving you the report you want to see! Then, save it for easy repeat use.

3. Time Window Field: We will be adding the ability to change the time window field on a per service basis... Rather that a setting it once in the account info for the client.

4. Vacation/Time-off: Block direct scheduling for an individual employee for a specified date range.

5. New Letter: Send out group email/new letter with ease

6. Quick Navigation Buttons: gives direct access to and from client account info and their schedule

I will post further information regarding completion date estimates as we get closer.

Spy Proof Your Computer

Some tips/programs that I use:

Four Easy Steps To Spy Proof Your Computer

1. Look for hardware keyloggers attached to the keyboard input.
2. Download your copy of SpyBot from Safer-Networking.org.
3. Download your copy of SpyCop SpyCop.com.
4. Download your copy of FireFox browser Mozilla.org.

The mozilla browser is AMAZING!!! make sure to check out all the extensions that you can download (for free) to enhance your browsing experience... my favorites include: Better Search, tab browser preferences, Dictionary Search, forecast fox, colorzilla, mapit, print it, smooth scroll, and tweak network.

Best of all, and unlike Windows IE, Mozilla Firefox blocks all spyware!

Great Small Business Book!

Just wanted to pass on a note about a great book I just recently finished...

It's called "The E Myth: Revisited" by Michael Gerber

At first, it's a little sobering (regarding small business success rates), but as you read on it becomes very interesting and useful!

Enjoy,

Tim

New Invoicing System

The new invoicing system is almost done... We're hoping to have it in place tomorrow morning (4/12). I will post more information as it becomes available.

In other news, we also plan on integrating a help system. This will place a "What's This?" link next to fields/features that you, your clients, or employees may have questions with. When clicked, it will open up a window giving a detailed description of the field/feature.

Thanks for all the great feedback, and we look forward to providing the best possible software application for you!
